Really interesting introduction for this new series Intriguing characters and Stands, original setting and backstory But mostly, what a change in graphics and narrative I do not know if it is because the French publisher has changed but the printing is much better, which leads to clearer drawings, they seem so fresher, detailed and less overwhelming loaded It really looks as if the author has reached some kind of maturity all around A nice renewal after the disappointing Diamond is Really interesting introduction for this new series Intriguing characters and Stands, original setting and backstory But mostly, what a change in graphics and narrative I do not know if it is because the French publisher has changed but the printing is much better, which leads to clearer drawings, they seem so fresher, detailed and less overwhelming loaded It really looks as if the author has reached some kind of maturity all around A nice renewal after the disappointing Diamond is Unbreakable series Finalmente termin con la Part 4, y tengo que admitir que el final levanta un poco con respecto a los confusos y demasiado rebuscados ltimos tomos Hace un rato largo hab a le do los primeros cap tulos de Vento Aureo pero no hab a completado el tomo Ahora s , y s lo me sale decir una cosa Esto promete A ver si esta vez cuelgo menos que con otras partes. This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers To view it, click here I m starting Vento Aureo kind of lukewarm, to be honest Of the 4 parts of Jojo I have yet to read, it s the one that interests me least I m not a big fan of the cast s design Costumes are too over the top given that this is supposed to be real world Italy And I m saying this as someone who unironically likes the character design in Final Fantasy X I think it s the setting that gets me If these guys were in Jojo land or something it wouldn t be so bad But all the zippers and male cleavage I m starting Vento Aureo kind of lukewarm, to be honest Of the 4 parts of Jojo I have yet to read, it s the one that interests me least I m not a big fan of the cast s design Costumes are too over the top given that this is supposed to be real world Italy And I m saying this as someone who unironically likes the character design in Final Fantasy X I think it s the setting that gets me If these guys were in Jojo land or something it wouldn t be so bad But all the zippers and male cleavage windows are at odds with the real life setting In stories, Italy and the mafia don t really interest me as a backdrop Maybe it s because most western history classes can t seem to shut the fuck up about Italy I m muchinterested in seeing Araki s take on modern day Florida or the old west I hope to be proven wrong, but neither the characters or the the setting jump out at me.My favorite things about this volume are Giorno s lineage and Koichi s inclusion It s a creative surprise to find out that Giorno is equal parts the son of Dio and Jonathan It s weird and uncomfortable to think about Hopefully there s some sort of exploration about he is the child of both the greatest good and the greatest evil in the series Including Koichi was a smart decision After 18 volumes of Diamond is Unbreakable, it could be offputting to ask the audience to accept a brand new cast of characters and a brand new setting So having him there to pass the baton to Giorno is a good idea Plus, I ll take any time with Koichi that I can get.Giorno s backstory was decent It was reflective of how in the real world, gangs serve as a source of identity and belonging when one s family and community have failed them Giorno s parents did not support him and the people he dealt with outside of his family were hostile It only makes sense that he would turn to organized crime That s the only thing in life that has offerred him a sense of value and direction. However, the book doesn t get into this exploration of the role gangs play in society Instead, it kind of treats the whole deal as aspiration, like how Luffy wants to be king of the pirates It s not a big deal, but this backstory didn t do much to get me invested in Giorno I don t have any strong feelings for him or Bruno for that matter Plus, I m not exactly clear on how Gold Experience works I think if Giorno punches something, it can turn into a living organism And then if that organism is attacked, the damage is reflected onto the attack If Giorno hits a person, their mind is accelerated faster than their body can move And this is portrayed by having it look like their soul has left their body I don t get it man.I ll give it some time But going in, I m not chomping at the bit to see what Vento Aureo has to offer I sincerely hope to have my mind changed.EDIT I just looked at the first couple pages of the next volume There s a panel that explains exactly how his stand works And Giorno tried to grab Gold Experience s dick I think things are going to be alright This is a review for all of Jojo s Bizarre Adventure Part 5 Golden Wind Psychic Italian gangster teenagers team up to defeat the head of the mafia It s amazing Part 5 is probably my second favorite Jojo part, after Steel Ball Run It has some of my favorite characters in the series Giorno, Buccellati, and Mista in particular , as well as some of the coolest and most creative Stand battles Also, a bad guy gets punched to death for seven pages straight and it is glorious.
