vulnerable and exposed by the searing gaze of a dark masked man Little does she know he s the man she ran from two years ago, whose wicked touch is about to become her undoing onceAlessandro Mattani cannot remember Carys, but his body does intimately And the red blooded Italian is determined to claim all that he believes is his I m not really sure if this deserves 4 stars, but hero was celibate during separation and since finding her back he had mini meltdowns every time he thought she d leave him I m still swooning 3.5 Stars This was a moderately enjoyable story, but for me, it was slow moving and quite repetitious I struggled to stay engaged because it seemed to take so long for anything to happen Those two things are quite frustrating for me I enjoyed the story immensely but the delivery was certainly not my favorite. There was a 1 Wicked, evil step mother who kept devastating secrets from the hero and lied to the heroine that the hero was getting married to someoneworthy of Those two things are quite frustrating for me I enjoyed the story immensely but the delivery was certainly not my favorite. There was a 1 Wicked, evil step mother who kept devastating secrets from the hero and lied to the heroine that the hero was getting married to someoneworthy of him 2 Heroine was led to believe the hero cheated on her by his evil step mother.3 Heroine was led to believe that hero refused to acknowledge their child Again it was kept from him as the step witch tried to convince him to marry another because that arrangement would benefit their family financially 4 Before story begins Hero had just dismissed his woman kicked her out because he arrived home when a scene was transpiring in front of his home An enemy of his was mauling his wife but he got so jealous that he thought, for a very short time, it was consensual She was fighting for her life and since he supposedly knew the way of women and how dishonest they were he immediately found her guilty He gave it some thought and realized that he had been very unreasonable and rushed out to stop her from leaving when he was involved in a terrible auto accident seriously injuring him He has had amnesia for the past two years with no memory of the heroine A real blank slate 5 The hero saw a flyer with an ad and the woman in the ad drew him His body knew her so he takes off to Australia He finds her, begs her to tell him what he has forgotten then is unsure whether to believe her or not 6 He is a hero who never regains his memory The reader never knows the extent of his injuries All we are told is he has a scar on his head 7 He never recalls the deep love he had for the heroine although he fell in love with her all over again I wish the story would have been either shortened or had moved along at a quicker pace There were times it was a struggle to get through the slow parts but it was worth it in the end.FYI I have read this multiple times Most of those times I was wantingclosure on the book It ended with a decent HEA that seemed incomplete but I was left a bit dismayed There was definitely unfinished business with the hero s stepwitch who seemed to get by with her wretched behavior and I had trouble reconciling the non relationship friendship with the hero and his beautiful childhood female friend that his family wanted him to marry What I cannot understand is why he kept this friend woman a secret from his live in lover and never told her where he was when he stayed out all night and she would later catch them on the property together He would even take her out in public and not return until the next day just not showing up at home to his woman yet never explained anything He explained nothing He said nothing to the woman he loved who lived with him She was kept in the dark therefore she only knew what she thought she saw.As much as the story tells us how deeply he loved the heroine, I didn t see any examples of that because of his secrecy So why not share that with her Why leave her open to the lies of his step witch He wouldn t believe the heroine but easily believed the step witch would never say the things she did.I won t be reading this again I think I keep reading hoping for a different outcome and it s not going to happen.Safety Heroine VirginBoth Celibate for the two years they were apart. No OM or OW dramaHero had been with many before he met the heroine But, once he met her that was it for him and he remained celibate for the two years they were apart even though he had no memory of her because of amnesia He felt like a big part of his life was missing.and that was her I m estimating on the date I read this Sometime in early June It took me this long to get around to writing my review This was well written, I just wasn t that fond of left him when he was young and so he thinks every woman is a good digger A lack of trust between Alessandro and Carys lead to the downfall of their relationship, that and his growing emotional remoteness from her Carys is somewhat insecure, due to her learning disability and not fitting in with her overachieving parents and siblings She was almost too easy for a man like Alessandro to seduce to fall into a relationship with him because she craved being loved by someone That s part of why I didn t care for the way Alessandro treated her The amnesia aspect was a bit of a twist, but it didn t really make mesympathetic to him I wish that he had to work harder to gain Carys love than he did Ultimately, he does show how much she means to him, but I would have likeddemonstrativeness from him I did see a lot of sexual chemistry between them, but the emotional connection isimportant I think I did love how he supported Carys in what she does, in light of her dyslexia The baby was cute as well. Not a favorite of mine by the author, but pretty good Overall rating 3.5 5.0 stars I want a Sandro spoilers may be below Loved this story Sandro was hot and i loved the way he loved her I could feel their passion The intimate scenes were erotic yet romantic I am so tired of the New Adult genre crudeness and this was just downright steamy Yes he had amnesia and the twist on this is that he never remembers I really liked the scene with his unknown little boy trying to grab him, calling him my mom and then smiling at him The hero s reaction was priceless He fell in love I want a Sandro about their past relationship, and that her son is his A life of being surrounded by avaricious people makes Sandro initially suspicious of Carys, but for their son s sake he insists they marry But as time passes, and with revelations about the forgotten part of his life, Sandro begins to realise that what he and Carys had, and has, goes much deeper He only wishes that Carys would trust him. There is something special that Annie West does to what are quite well used plots to make them really enjoyable, and she has certainly done this here I really enjoyed it The relationship between the hero and heroine feels very natural and it is full of passion, as well as tinged with sadness The amnesia plot could be a bit trite, but I was so pleased that there wasn t a sudden I remember everything just from one look in your eyes moment And I think Annie handled the hero s slow acceptance of his memory loss really well The heroine is a brilliantly developed character, so strong despite all her problems. This is a fabulous book passionate, absorbing, and powerful Recommended.Originally posted at Very tropey not trophy auto correct and meets many of the H landia wants and needs alpha Italian,
