It was a very interesting book I wouldn t call it historical fiction though It is written using the journals of Lewis Clark and Sacagawea s husband The book was referenced in Jane Kirkpatrick s Tender Ties series It has journal entries yet is a coffee table style book with photographs of the places where the group traveled In the back of the book are customs, Native American language from the groups she encountered I recommend this book to learnabout Sacagawea It was a very interesting book I wouldn t call it historical fiction though It is written using the journals of Lewis Clark and Sacagawea s husband The book was referenced in Jane Kirkpatrick s Tender Ties series It has journal entries yet is a coffee table style book with photographs of the places where the group traveled In the back of the book are customs, Native American language from the groups she encountered I recommend this book to learnabout Sacagawea [[ DOWNLOAD E-PUB ]] ☟ Sacagawea Speaks: Beyond the Shining Mountains with Lewis and Clark ☚ Sacagawea tells readers of her extraordinary life Z the Corps of Discovery Z a combination of oral traditions scholarly research historical anecdotes and images from a multitude of collections I thought this was a beautiful book very readable, with wonderful photos and footnotes The expedition s story is told from Sacagawea s point of view, which zeroes in on relationships within the Corps and with the native groups There are snippets from both Clark s and Lewis s jounals scattered throughout The author is both a historical interpreter and a storyteller whose mixed lineage includes both Cherokee and Sioux She has performed her living histories across the U.S., including at the Sm I thought this was a beautiful book very readable, with wonderful photos and footnotes The expedition s story is told from Sacagawea s point of view, which zeroes in on relationships within the Corps and with the native groups There are snippets from both Clark s and Lewis s jounals scattered throughout The author is both a historical interpreter and a storyteller whose mixed lineage includes both Cherokee and Sioux She has performed her living histories across the U.S., including at the Smithsonian and the National Geographic Society I learned a lot by reading it Sacagawea speaksbut doesn t have a lot to say. This book picks up when Sacagawea joins the Lewis and Clark expedition, with only a little about her back story, and ends at the end of the expedition with only a little about the rest of her life It s kind of a coffee table book, complete with glossy pages and lots of drawings and photos, and is something of a Cliff notes version of Undaunted Courage Stephen Ambrose and Sagajawea Ann Lee Waldo. A book supposedly focusing on Sacagawea, but I learnedfrom reading the Journals Of Lewis and Clark. Well done Puts the emotion behind this fascinating story. I don t like many history books, but love this one You have to read it
