It was good, until it got sooo freaking boring I lost interest and it s so sad because it had so much potential Perhaps it s just me, because it seems like all the book I read lately is just like thatRate 2.5 I did like about half of the book stars. happens o catch the eye of Malik Carter her next door neighbor Five Carter brothers come to Harlow s side to protect her However with Malik, she has captured the heart of of the brother who does not date Malik feels like Harlow is his light in a world of dark He has had a lot of pain in his own life, that only his brothers share Now he has found a reason for hope, Harlow This is a story that broke my heart The bullying is front and center in the story Harlow is trying to adjust to life without her parents and this is just another hit she can t deal with Malik is a wonderful hero, he is intense but his love for Harlow shines bright Loved all the characters and cannot wait forHis brother Max is quite the bad boy, look forward to his story in particular It was somewhat entertaining but so much like the Slater brothers. The bullying was over the top done in such a disgusting way that I wanted to stop and never finish. It wasn t bullying, it was rape stalking, disrespect in the worst way.I felt sorry for the heroine for the loss of both her parents in such a tragic way, but she was annoying and dumb Omg, he is looking at me so I turn red but can t stop staring back Are you shy or ballsy 3.5 Too much of everything starsThis is the first book I have read from this author and well, it left me being just content with what i have read. The YA drama is somewhat over the top, it started with the INSTA attraction leading towards INSTA claim by friendship then towardsUsually I have no problem with it, and I can understand the intense pull, considering we are talking about 17 year olds BUT still, their actions somewhat proceede their age and in the next moment they act truly like 3.5 Too much of everything starsThis is the first book I have read from this author and well, kids I caught myself several times with this expression on my face yeah, i read the book next to a mirror LMAO then it would move towards angst, then extra bullying, and thenfurther nearing the end BOOM it really gets too much BUT if you keep in mind the fact that this is fiction and a YA fiction then you can somewhat let go and well, enjoy even if it deals with the abuse you can t really enjoy, right The characters through the story meet Malik Carter and Harlow Evansboth being parentless and living eich with one grandparent apart from Malik having 4 brothers around same age or a few years older they bond really quickly despite the strange vibe that transparents between them at first, but after they find out they are really neighbours and their grandparents are having this close connectionthings also quickly turn into much , instant Malik s protective care of Harolow, sets them on the path towards each other s arms of discovery, both emotionally and physically and yes, the physical attraction and action is way off the steamy charts, and then you shock yourself thinking, shit, they re only 17 BUT adding the extra tention, they are both thorns in the side of one bad prick, a notoriously evil prank guy that plants a seed of evil attempt on destroying Harlow and Malik Ah, the glory of highschool days this was a mixture of Tijan s Fallen Crest High series and Nero by Sarah Brianne without the mafia factor, of course the book ends in sort of a cliffy although it sets the path for the secondary characters story to unravel 3.5 stars 4.25 starsMalik Malik Malik with my Grandma It meant switching schools, losing friends, and moving away from the only home I knew All I wanted was to finish the school year hassle free Switching seats on that first day altered my life After surviving the loss of my parents I never thought anything could break me, but then HE came into my life He wants to hurt me Destroy me Ruin me Tragedy brought me here, and a cruel twist of fate has me desperate to leave There s also someone here that has me fighting to stay though All my life I ve lived in the shadows, trying to go unnoticed, until I met HIM Malik Carter He s broody, quiet, and holding on to a dark past From that first meeting I was drawn to him, his painfully gorgeous looks and model physique, but I also knew he was totally out of my league He s the boy next door who, with his domineering personality, has somehow etched his way into my life When the Carter Brothers take it upon themselves to protect me from what s coming, I m not sure whether to be relieved or shocked You see, when a Carter brother loves, they love fiercely, strongly and protectively No one can get in their way They re also used to getting what they want, even if it means getting hurt There s one thing you should know about the Carter brothers before you read my story If you mess with one, you mess with them all I never usually write a review for a book I DNF but I feel inclined I ve read about many and I mean MANY heroines that are described as drop dead gorgeous and not knowing it , and I understand why, it gives the character a sense of innocence and makes herattractive simply because she doesn t know how beautiful she is Truthfully that doesn t bother me, it is a common trait with heroines in NA books so I ve come to accept it What does bother me however is when the heroine describes herse I never usually write a review for a book I DNF but I feel inclined I ve read about many and I mean MANY heroines that are described as drop dead gorgeous and not knowing it , and I understand why, it gives the character a sense of innocence and makes herattractive simply because she doesn t know how beautiful she is Truthfully that doesn t bother me, it is a common trait with heroines in NA books so I ve come to accept it What does bother me however is when the heroine describes herself and attempts to talk down her attractiveness So in the first chapter our heroine Harlow talks about how she was bullied at her last school and she wasn t sure why Her friend Lily tells her it was because they were jealous of her looks, in which Harlow believes to be a ridiculous statement ObserveTo me I m just a plain ordinary girl who had mousy brown hair that fell to the middle of my back, dull blue eyes and an hour glass figure, which most boys find really unattractive Um what I m sorry but since when do boys find hourglass figures unattractive I mean HELLO Marilyn Monroe is the epitome of hourglass figures and she was a sex icon Anyway, putting the word mousy in front of the fact that she has long brown hair that fell all the way to the middle of her back was a fail And I have yet to see someone who has blue eyes I would find dull Putting negative adjectives in front of otherwise nice looking features doesn t fool anyone. To me this moment with Harlow reminded me of a girl I went to school with who used to say bad things about herself in search of compliments You know that girl who has a rocking body but can t seem to shut up about how fat she is even though she s wearing a bikini That girlI hate that girl I got about halfway through the book and just lost interest Nothing in particular, just grew bored of the story and characters Holy Molly This was one awesome read The storyline was amazing well sometimes it was kinda cheesy but I loved it though and the characters were well developed as well There were many characters in the book and Hollllly Hotness There were 5 of them Malik was sweet and a loving boyfriend but don t let that deceive you He was hot and he was very much alpha Harlow was sweet and lovely and I felt really bad for her after what she went through. The plot was very well developed except that Holy Molly This was one awesome read to let Malik stay for the night hide spoiler I also would have liked it if the author had taken a little bittime to develop Malik s and Harlow s relationship I like a good love hate relationship This one went a little too fast for me Nonetheless it was a well done book and ugh let me rant a little here Can we talk about the cliffhanger Ughhhhh I cannot wait to read the other books Hmm how I describe this book Worst Book I ve read This year Really disappointed with this one The plot sounded so interesting, but it definitely did not raise to the challenge I ve read about half of book before giving up I felt like I was reading the diary of a 15 years old girl The plot did not come together, her internal monologue was crap So annoying.
