`Read Kindle ⚞ The Last Testament ì In a normal American town the bombs have dropped in the distance All lives are willing to death as radiation fallout increases and comes closer and closer to their homes The most disturbing and slowest wait for death brought to us as a book It s taken me years to find a copy of this book unfortunately mine is a second hand copy that seems to have been published without permission from Ms Amen herself, as it has no copyright info inside it Anyway, I think this book is a great way to get a condensed version of what was later to become a shocking film in 1983 this book is its basis , but The Last Testament lacks the heavy atmosphere, the ominous soundtrack and the superb acting that the film Testament had It s also a short stor It s taken me years to find a copy of this book unfortunately mine is a second hand copy that seems to have been published without permission from Ms Amen herself, as it has no copyright info inside it Anyway, I think this book is a great way to get a condensed version of what was later to become a shocking film in 1983 this book is its basis , but The Last Testament lacks the heavy atmosphere, the ominous soundtrack and the superb acting that the film Testament had It s also a short story, and though a good one, you don t really get to know the characters as well This is a really heavy handed cautionary tale about what life and death might be like if the warm, cheerful suburban US was hit with nuclear bombs It s definitely not something I d recommend for everyone as it s really morbid at times, but it s a great story, anyway I sought out this short story out after watching the film Testament based upon it You can read the full short story here This is a short story or last testament of a family in a small Northern California town and how they coped in the aftermath of a nuclear explosion Even though it is a few short pages, I felt the numbness right along with her and imagined the pain of loss The movie Testament came out based on this story the year before I was born I sometimes wonder what it was like to live with the threat of nuclear war.
