whole appreciation for the books I have already read. Some of the first stuff that popped up was Jack London being classified as a key author I have read two of his most famous works, The Call of The Wild and White Fang I did enjoy both of them and plan on reading them again Also, part of London s work was credited The character Buck, in Call of the Wild was noted as a Well this book was chalk full of good stuff I found new books to invest my interest in, a few authors to explore and a whole appreciation for the books I have already read. Some of the first stuff that popped up was Jack London being classified as a key author I have read two of his most famous works, The Call of The Wild and White Fang I did enjoy both of them and plan on reading them again Also, part of London s work was credited The character Buck, in Call of the Wild was noted as a key character.Jules Verne was also in the list He was noted as a Key Author for literary history I am a huge fan of his ideas and did a project on him and his work in Grade 12 English last year He has a great ability to think beyond what we know and adventure deeper than we could have imagined right here on our own planet H.G Wells is another Key Author and one who has a key book War of the Worlds I have not read any of his works, but I was always interested in his concepts and ideas Mark Twain, also a key author, has two of America s most known characters under his ownership.I have not read his work, but I plan to have it done in my lifetime I do appreciate the classics.A Key book in history is The Secret Garden I read this book when I was 12 and remembered liking it, but I was afraid to mention it because it was a girly book , now I appreciate it so muchfor being a classic A key event in history was when F Scott Fitzgerald fell in love with Zelda Sayre His experiences with love and passion prompted him to write a book in which I thoroughly enjoyed, The Great Gatsby It symbolized and emphasized the zeal in the early Prohibition America Luxury was huge and this was life before the dreaded stock market crash and resulting Depression It was also a great and tragic love story.Winnie the Pooh was listed as a key character and I can understand why Even this year a reboot of the classic Disney film is underway and being released to theaters and everything This beloved character has warmed the hearts of many children and Christopher Robin, being the son of the author, is now the boy who will never grow old, even if he s dead in real life I knew that Hitler wrote a book, and I was always interested in what kind of thins he would have to say It is a key book in history, and I wonder if the Nazi s burned his book when they burned the mass of books Tough choice for the Nazi soldiers.I learned about key author, Agatha Christie I had no idea who she was or what she had written and was amazed to discover her as the most successful author of all time I finally recognized her works and remembered that i planned to read them It was interesting to find out that she disappeared for a while I find it ironic and iconic that a mystery suspense author disappears and is later found with no recollection of her former self, and to this day, still an unsolved mystery.Lenny Small from Of Mice and Men was a Key character and I guess I could see why Lenny was annoying, I did not like him He was stupid and killed everything he touched Why would he not let go Instead he had to grab tighter I was glad George killed him, but I would have preferred to read about Lenny being caught by the lynching mob.Marry Poppins is a key character in literature and it suits it all the better Just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down. Her warm embrace on children has captured the love of many.A huge key event was the launching of Penguin paperbacks in the UK in 1935.the publication of the books made readingconvenient, affordable and accessible. There is also a kind of thrill that book lovers experience when they discover a penguin book hidden on a shelf even if they don t know the title yet I made the mistake of reading about Gone With The Wind and missed the spoiler alert, so I know all about the book that i have not read yet I will still read it, the magic of it won t be the same Anyway, Scarlett O Hara is the Key character of the book And I was happy to find out that Vivien Leigh played her in the movie adaption The Diary of Anne Frank is a key book in literature because it shows the wit and humor of a pubescent girl, but also shows the horror and tragedy of the holocaust and what Polish Jews had to endure to try and survive The love and wit makes this book touching and the tragedy makes it gripping It is a sad book, but it is history, and history never had a happy ending.Superman is a key character in the world of reading and no wonder He is the man of steel His legacy has been with the world since 1938 I really liked the 1980s versions of the film I never had heard about the 1950s TV show, but I was interested in the mysterious death of the actor who played superman. When the New York Times started making a best seller list, the world took notice, and thus increased the wide success of little known authors and enhanced the reading experience for everyone. The suicide of Sylvia Plath was unbelievable I can t understand how a successful and loving mother would go about preparing the children for bed, making their breakfasts for them, and even sealing the kitchen off so that they would not be harmed, and just goes and sticks her head in the oven.It doesn t make sense I have never read any work of Plath, it was her death that intrigued me to read on, and I was stunned To this day i don t know if a reason was given for her demise, although some of her last material might have hinted at death and suicide Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was my childhood favorite book Roald Dahl is a Key author and I always thought it was funny that a man had the last name doll His original ideas and creativity sparked interest in all his books and keep things fresh and obscenely unrealistic, but fun Matilda is my favorite book of his currently.Aslan is a key character I am head over heels in love with the Chronicles of Narnia The emotion and power behind the series is spine tingling and magical for me I read these books as a child and re read them as a teen and still enjoy them with an enormous passion Aslan was always mysterious and never really clear I wished to knowabout him, but it seemed that C.S Lewis wanted his readers to come to their own terms of this character.I was surprised to find Waiting for Godot in this book I never read it or understood it, but in my 11th grade Drama class, three of my friends did a project on Theater of the Absurd and chose to perform an excerpt of this play It was funny and strange, but it was properly delivered I enjoyed the experience.Cruella De Vil is a key character in the famously known 101 Dalmatians Her crazed look and wacky routines make her most memorable and least forgotten She may not be loved, but she is admired.Atticus Finch Key Character was the weirdest name I had ever heard of in my Grade 10 year I didn t like the way he was described and I didn t like the way he talked His heart was good and he knew the way the world worked, he was a great dad and an excellent lawyer, but I never could respect him I enjoyed To Kill A Mockingbird very much, and the story is both tragic and sweet It makes you hate and want to doabout the status quo, it is a great read Spiderman a key character was the definition of Bad ass in 2001 for me when the first movie came out, I was enthralled right away I am a fan of the movies and am just starting to understand the comics and history of the world s best web crawler Margaret Atwood is a a key author and I m glad she is Canadian It just gives Canada that support of fame it needs I understand that Atwood is a feminist and a strange writer, but she understands a good book and what qualities it need to become a good book She is inspiring and a little bit crazy in her work, but that is what makes it hers, and the world loves it Crash seems disturbing but intriguing I have never read a pornographic book and I think this might be the first In no way does this book sound like it has the intended effect to me currently I haven t read it but the idea is different, I wouldn t say original, but I could be wrong I ll just have to see and read Carrie the ever famous Stephen King s first novel I watched the movie and loved it it was so sad, and the first movie to make me jump and get that serious scared feeling I can t wait to read it.George Orwell is a key author with two key books, Animal Farm and 1984 I have read 1984, and it was very strange I was compelled to read it again, and I have yet to determine an understanding of it I just learned that I hate authoritarian governments Beloved is a key book and I was surprised that Oprah was in the film version, although she is also in the movie adaption of The color purple which is also a key book Harry Potter has swarmed the literary world and made history He also made J.K Rowling another modern day rags to riches success story Harry is a huge key character in the modern world and will always be read and enjoyed Despite controversy, people are entitled to their own opinions and beliefs Life of Pi holds the last key character in this book that stands out for me, and that is Pi himself I read the book twice, the second time was better because I was older and better prepared for the gore and descriptions It was a beautiful peace for writing and I love it Best of all, it was written by Yann Martel, a Canadian author I hope to the highest extremes that this book is turned into a successful film This book was published in 2007, so the latest books that have blown into the world never made it to this book Such books would include the Twilight series, and the Percy Jackson Series, and various others. All in all, books will always be made and I can t wait to see what comes next I read parts of this book over a three week period ah, libraries I was NOT feeling the organization of this book but enjoyed much of what I read Reader s will love the bits of information and trivia about all things literary The index was AMAZING and useful since I only managed to read parts of Defining Moments in Books Actually I would rate it as 3 1 2 stars If you like trivia about authors, books, and characters and their significance in history this book is for you It s in chronological order and is in 1 2 page reviews There s also pictures, so it s really easy to pick up and thumb through.
