shows is that, no matter the packaging, no matter the location or pattern of speech, we re all vulnerable to someone wriggling and needling their way into our hearts You ain t t only one swooning, Tad, my friend.A roughneck heart That s what this is, that s what s beating all throughout this story Clay Hecker is Tad s burden and freedom both And there s a secret Betrayal, youthful betrayal It stays, unrelenting in memory A broken heart from having taken the risk, this is.Dialogue, earnest and humorous, direct and gruff Coupled with the troubled, complicated and heartfelt narration that is Tad, it s a blended drink of which I cannot seem to get enough.Second chances They re all at once thrilling and frightening The vulnerability factor increases exponentially sometimes you have to take it when it comes ambling down the dusty, tired street, sometimes, it ll tease and torment before giving up the ghost Sometimes, it ll chase away every last one of those ghosts.Tad and Clay I like you I m all for But the wording and phrasing of this was not the best Which is a shame because I can see the potential that this author has, the depth that these characters could have gone, but I just can t get past raw words and actions used I still may look up others works, because again ignoring those words, actions I can see a good book, and maybe I can find it somewhere else I was given a copy of Obviously not dead The yearning for Clay is still there but Tad s sure Clay won t be too happy to see him They re both staying in the same town and are bound to run into each other It s just not going to be a happy reunion. This book was pretty short For those of you expecting a romantic read I wouldn t get your hopes up when picking this one up This is a love story but these men are very matter of fact You get horny, you find a hole to poke type of guys For me personally I found it a little raunchy for my tastes Lots of sex and not just between the MCs I didn t really blame Tad for shooting Clay once I found out the reason he did it and Clay s excuses didn t make it any better. The author definitely painted the picture of the life of these cowboys The dialogue really helped transport me to the place and time the story was taking place I just think this book was a little too crude and sex filled for my personal preferences If you re in the mood for a down and dirty cowboy read where two cowboys who fell I love in their younger years, you might like this one 2.5 star review by Pamela MaeIf you re looking for a romantic read, this isn t for you This is blunt, gritty, and downright me out of the story. When Tad and Clay finally have their reunion after Tad doing his best to hide from Clay, it s at the muzzle of a gun This is followed by a fight Tad loses, followed by dubious consent sex, which includes ignoring Tad s broken rib.I couldn t take to either character I didn t particularly like either character. However, if you like down and dirty cowboy erotica, then you may
